Swags & Cascades
Perhaps you've admired the graceful drapes of fabric that topped a window, or had your eye drawn down the side of a window by the graduated folds of material. Which is the swag and which is the cascade? We've provided you samples of each at the bottom of this page. Click on the thumbnail images to see a full-sized image of each treatment.

	When privacy is not an issue, but maintaining the view is, swags and cascades give the window that special touch without blocking the view.
	The treatment on the left has swags, cascades and a small valance. Special consideration had to be given , to accommodate the need for the privacy of a bath, and to ensure that the treatment would stand up to the high humidity of a bathroom. Be sure to click on the image to see the unexpected touch of beadwork on the triangular valance.
	SWAGS are a graceful drape of fabric that hang in semicircular folds across the top of a window. They can be mounted from either a rod or a board. CASCADES are pleated or gathered side panels that descend in a zig-zag pattern from a drapery heading or top treatment. They are lined with a contrasting fabric or are self-lined. They can be placed over the top of the swags or underneath them. Also called jabots.
